Description

If your students enjoy playing ERPsim and they think they have the skills to compete against the best in the world, then they must participate in the 6th International ERPsim Competition. In team of three (3), participants will have to demonstrate their ability of managing their virtual company with ERPsim, a real-life ERP system using SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP HANA.

Are you ready to compete?

The Manufacturing Extended game will be used for the competition, and BI will be an important part of it. Students will be able to use SAP Lumira to develop their own dashboards and use them in real-time to make their decisions and gain insight on the market they are facing.

The competition’s rules are as follow:

  • The competition is open to students universities member of the SAP Academic Alliance.
  • Only one team per university is allowed to participate.
  • Registration must be done by a faculty member that is at least a Level 1 Certified instructor. The faculty member will be the coach of the team alongside an industry coach; they can guide the teams, but they cannot directly participate in the simulation.
  • The registration is free, closes on April 9th and is limited to 36 teams.
  • Communications during the games will be done via Skype.

The competition will follow the following schedule (specific dates to be confirmed) :

  • End of registration: April 9th
  • Practice runs: April 14th - 18th
  • First Qualification Round:
    • o Game 1: April 21rst - 25th
    • o Game 2: April 28th - May 2nd
  • Final Qualification Round: May 5th to 9th
  • Final: to be determined (between June 3rd and June 19th)

Note: After April 9th, time slots will be proposed to the teams for each qualification round. The practice runs and the qualification rounds will be managed by the ERPsim Lab. Due to technical constraints, it is not possible to obtain a ERPsim SAP client on HANA for practice; should you want to practice the game with your students (without HANA), you can use the Manufacturing Extended game (which is the exact same version that will be used in the competition).

Only the Manufacturing Extended game will be used for the competition. The qualification rounds will consist of two games (one per week) of two rounds each. The 12 teams that generate the highest profit out of the two games they have played will participate in the final qualification round (this mean that each team have two chances to qualify for the final qualification round). The 3 teams that generate the highest profit during the final qualification round will participate in the final.

The goal of the competition has also been, since the beginning, envisioned as a way to have the participants leverage their experience with SAP and to develop their relationship with the industry. For this competition, we ask all teams to find an industry coach, which can be any manager from any company using SAP. The name of the company will be linked to the name of the team in the communications for the competition.
